I fully agree . Alot of tech advice hear I’ve found flimflam , toss out any advice stuff. It’s very counter productive to the guy who’s diligently trying to get his Morgan on the road. . My experience- belt slip is completely UNMISTAKABLE. Sounds like a “ submachine gun “
Teeth are spaced evenly so are belt . When belt slips teeth incrementally . Result is a consistent pop pop pop ! Usually on a dip where slack is created in belt /suspension.
Or on hard acceleration from a stop 🛑. Odd to me out of thousands of Morgan 3 wheelers - this strange belt slip rationalization goes on ? Even the discussion of belt slip being technically impossible. Kinda funny . I can tell you I’ve had belt slip and fixed it . By tightening. I’ve gotten very proficient at it . More interesting is my belt tightening methods are spectacular. And I use almost none of the common advice or guidance . Belts slip ! Also not to confused the belt slip with the bevel box bang ! Belt slip is a Machine gun . Bevel box bang is a cannon that you feel hit your frame , Hard . Once you have a M3w awhile , you know exactly what’s going on .
