Oh yes, sorry, I'd forgotten that they still used that in the seventies. If you've fitted something better couldn't you feed a thin tube from whatever fan you have got along the base of the windscreen, something just a little bigger than windscreen washer tubing, and have lots of little holes in the tube keeping a flow on the screen? Might be possible?
