Thanks for all the responses, I take the point about mount security but I've gone with this Wipac driving lamp bracket kit from Williams Morgan all the same.
bulbs, sat behind the clear lenses these bulbs give a lovely subtle golden glow when the fogs are off.

They look nice, Lucas did a spot / foglamp version that looked very similar with a sort of chrome nipple in the middle of the lens, but they are quite rare now
