Well this week I jacked up the front as far as I could and put it on axel stands, crawled underneath and eventually spotted that near the rear of the gear box approx underneath the gear shift there is a bracket to support the back of gearbox before the UJ and the two bolts were missing. When cornering the whole engine & gear box would move sideways!

One bolt was stil lying in the bracket after 100s of miles so that has gone back in with some loctight the other I will have to replace but it is in a p#g of place you cant get at.

No witness marks that there's ever been a bolt fitted to that, which is a bit worrying...

As access is tight, you could try threading a bolt or length of studding from above & than lock off with a nut below perhaps
