A 1991 +8 is a lovely car , 14 CUX injection and no cats (so a lovely V8 burble at all speeds)

The Rover V8 is one of the all time greats , and is pretty much bombproof as long as it has oil and coolant kept up to the mark. It is capable of 100k miles easily.

I think it will an LT77 gearbox and the Sailsbury axle with LSD. As long as both of these are kept correctly lubricated they shouldn't give problems.

Keep the front suspension well greased and everything should be fine.

The only small problem with the pre-stainless bulkhead and valences is corrosion at the junction between the two, so just keep an eye on this. So driving once the salt has gone is a good idea.
