Clemens, with your new language skills, thanks to TBM, you might be able to work out where the Jockmog centre is located...?

Must be a very fun area

. Correct ?
I've got my teacher hat on today.
In England, people who are called John, are sometimes refered to as 'Jack'. There are a couple of theories as to why, both going back to the Medieval times!
In Scotland it has become 'Jock'. So someone called John from Scotland is often referered to as 'Jock' and over time this has taken a more generic meaning for anyone from Scotland.
This can sometimes be seen as a derogatory term in the same vein as 'Paddy' for Irish or 'Taff' for Welsh, but most countries have reclaimed it and they have more common usage within the countries. However, although a Scot may be happy to refer to themselves as a Jock, personally I wouldn't be comfortable in using it to describe someone from Scotland, unless it is with an individual I know well, who has made it known that they would like to be refered to as 'Jock' (same with Paddy or Taff).
In cockney rhyming slang, the term 'sweaty' is used to describe someone who is Scottish - as 'Jock' rhymes with 'sweaty sock'.
