Thanks John, I guess it is just learning how to drive a very different car. My last sports car was an MGC significantly updated with fast road engine, power steering etc etc. IT was very fast, and hugely torquey; above 2500 rpm it really flew, but I could also trickle through 30mph villages in 4th. I agree though that smooth, quiet progress is preferable to screaming about like a banshee! I will get used to it in time - it is very different from my 1939 Daimler, that's for sure.
