That does seem odd doesn't it Bob. Could it be your particular radio has a switch or jumper option to work with single power feed? Perhaps you could check that radio turns off with ignition. All I can add is that the lash up radio installation by PO of my Land Rover has the two power feeds joined together at radio and fed direct via fused feed from battery. To turn it off I remove the security front panel. Will get around to proper installation one day innocent
