Satin black taps etc reminds me of the late 70's fashion for dark coloured bathroom fittings. Our first house (new in 1979) had a bathroom in "Sorrento Blue" - very dark blue. It looked clean on about three occasions - in spite of the effort put in by both of us.
I blame the builders - Barrat Homes in that instance.
