The Yellow EV was a Morgan skunk-works project Jon in about 2013/14 (from memory!) just to show what was possible and unusually, it did have a normal Plus 8 gearbox. You are right about the subsequent partner who was developing an EV version of the M3W going belly-up and they were also developing a carbon fibre M3W body too.

There was no “enormous grant” for the Yellow EV which was never destined to be a production model…

MMC were awarded a 6 million pound grant in 2016 the yellow one was part of that project wasn't it part of the application?

I was wrong on the date as this article was published in 2012 when the car was exhibited at Geneva https://newatlas.com/something-old-something-new-the-morgan-plus-e/21736/ as I said a project put together in the skunk works featuring some chassis alteration by Radshape, an electric motor and controls from Zytek, a complete body etc from MMC = Morgan Plus 8 EV.

It’s difficult to see how a 2016 grant financed a car built in 2012! 😉
