Some techies advise if it's a modernish Mog with an ECU, only turn the key to position 2 ( ignition on) and then be patient...wait until the fuel pump primes, if it has a tacho some do a sort of test sweep to full revs and back that you can clearly see, only when this is done then start the engine
Bit like a modern TV, press to swop channel as the BBC pulls a spoiler with the GP result
and it takes several seconds to react...all that electrowizardry ain't as fast as we think
