Hi Bryan, some folk find the steering so light after fitting top bearings they leave the original damper blades in as well which can mask other issues. Seems counter-intuitive to me but each to their own. It would however explain your findings.
I was quite underwhelmed when I fitted my sifab steering bearings. It was the torsion type and found little to no difference. I think the rebound spring is under quite a bit of pressure so am going to get some wolf performance torsion bearings to sit on top of the rebound spring to see if that helps.
