Interesting if somewhat complex.
Only slightly connected but wondered - Is there any noticeable gain in torque (low/mid range) to be had on a carburettor engine by adding longer trumpets to an existing manifold setup - i.e. longer before the carb? My car has a 'rally' cam and is lumpy low down. Any thoughts appreciated.

The rule of thumb is that the longer the trumpets, the more torque at low revs.
