I could not understand why 3 penalties in quick succession on the Welsh try line only lead to a warning and no penalty try or sending off and yet one cynical foul/penalty later, on the Fiji try line lead to a yellow card! I also couldn't understand why the ref blew when the Fiji were pushing towards the Welsh try line and not play advantage, if Fiji failed to score or lost possession, he could still have pulled them back to play the penalty! I did feel he sent off the Welsh player only because of his precipitous sending off of the Fijian moments earlier, when in reality a Welsh player should have been sin binned much earlier following the try line 3 penalties.

Same inconsistency in the another game when Ford's head was knocked backwards (and he didn't even have the ball) yet Curry was sent off .I do have my suspicions that from time to time the nationality of the referee may influence the game....I know the Irish never seem to like having Barnes as a referee, as he always pulls up their offside infringement.

Well, if every game was refereed to the same high standard and every infringement pulled up, it would take as long as an American football game,. The rugby is certainly more exciting if allowed to flow, but on occasion I do nave my suspicions and waiting for some betting scam to be unearthed at some point in the future.
