Just before Covid closures I was at a classic show in Scolton Manor ( run by Pembs Classic Car Club). A restorer was there showing Gilberns. One finished and another yet to be started. I thought I recognised the silver pre resto car. Chatted to the restorer who confirmed it as a rugby/work mate’s car. It was a barn find having been left there for many years). My mate loved it but on career change due to steelworks closure he garaged it.
Silver with black interior and I had a few trips as a passenger. Nice enough car back then. L reg ( suffix I think).
In the show were 3/4 other Gilberns, mostly standard with a couple of mods. Looked great.
