I'm sure I recent read there is a Government pot of some £630m available to local authorities to fix pot holes for some time . I know Lancashire has just secured a further £20+m to deal with pot holes. A lot of it is down to the local authorities attitude to cars and whether the various authority departments are supporting their continued use and access of cars to decent roads.

We know we have lots of cyclists in our local roads dept. as they can always find funds to restructure road priorities for cyclists in areas where there is little or no demand but the roads remain are pot holed. I hope the government does restrict the powers of the authorities to deter motorists...our local Council has just agreed to pedestrianise our local High Street, even though they admit the community consultation was massively and overwhelmingly against doing so. So much for local democracy.
