We both had annual flu and covid jabs 3 weeks ago. No ill effects apart from a short ache in one arm for 24 hours.
Covid and flu are not going away so mitigating the effects is, to me, sensible. We both tested positive for Covid in the run up to Christmas but mild symptoms. Tests were done as a precaution as visits to relatives were planned and re-arranged.
About a month later Mrs sospan was having palpitations, GP was visited and we went to a Consultant. All tests were OK as medication worked along with time. He did say that Covid was a possible cause as a form of Long Covid as cases had been recorded. No real link yet but a possibility. He said it would clear with time. She is ok now.
This was the first time we had used our private medical cover, set up several years ago while I was working. Once we had got the initial GP service started it was easy to move to the cover and speed up the process. A good decision to continue it. We pay half, ex company pays half and I pay tax on their contribution. A decent discount in the end.
