Yes, the owners retired and sold the Brookfield Hotel to the Heartwood Inns group earlier this month. It is scheduled to reopen next April as "The Rope & Anchor" pub.
The SogMog Christmas lunch was booked there again this year. Sadly no one thought to inform us of the closure leaving the chairman scrambling to find somewhere else that could accommodate 50 diners in December.
