I’ve started my winter jobs early.
Wing off to get the running board off for painting again as it started to blister up.
Got me thinking about these huge CATs.
I was going to get a bypass pipe made for the secondary as I want more noise. It looks so big I reckon it could cause emission issues come MOT.
Someone suggested punching out the internals of the smaller CAT. Has anyone tried this?
I punched out a main cat as a test… and got the ECU light on. I only tried it as the cat had collapsed and was blocked already.
Interesting, I suspected it would throw the light as it’s a big CAT.
I sought professional advice re punching through the primary CAT but it would be very difficult to know if all the fragments had been extracted.
The danger is they could get ingested into the engine. So manifolds would need to come off. Not a nice job
