Did you get the washer/spacers in exactly the same sequence? I did NOT the first time I did it and got the dragging of the rear wheel when spun manually. Maybe there chould be a connection? I know that the orientation of the washers makes a difference and maybe it has an effect on the brakes. Did you take good photos of things before you pulled it apart?

Yes, it's worth carefully documenting the order of components on your car's rear spindle as you're dismantling them. MMC apparently tried a few different approaches so not all cars have the same components in the same order. Therefore, there is no definitive 'right way' to do it. Put everything back the same as it came off your car and you should be OK.
