I normally like to do the work myself but on this occasion it may be better to send the Callipers to a specialist, such as Autoservices in Chelford. It seems the common fit for my car is Girling M16 Calliper types of which repair kis are readily available, but the T48 Repair kits return zero hits.
I think the problem is lack of use as the car didn't get used for 6 months (22/23), as I was ill. When I finally got it out, it was pulling to one side as one front brake was binding. I managed to free it off by pushing the piston in and out a few times and it's been fine over this summer. However, prior to parking the car up for the winter, I noticed that one front alloy was covered in brake dust, yet the other side was much cleaner which is indicative of unequal/binding brakes. So it's a task for the winter to get sorted.
One other question....
The front suspension seems a lot firm than the rear. Is this normal or a sign the rear shocks are tired? For info the car is a 89 +8 with 25k miles.
