I would think that a small nick in the belt won't be a big problem, they are very strong and some owners have had a hole punched through the belt with a stone without failure for many miles. Probably something you don't want to run with for ages though. As Roger says, they are available from a number of places but none particularly cheap, £250 -£300. Changing the belt is not a quick job either, swing arm removal required.
