A start button and keyless starting are two different things.

I don't care much about a start button when you have to turn on the ignition with a key but I do like the convenience of a keyless start.

I am not so keen on proximity keyless entry and prefer the remote control (key button) system. Having said that I have had no experience of the keyless proximity system but it does seem to me that there are many stories of theft resulting from remotely copying or relaying the codes from a proximity entry fob.

One worry with a keyless system is that it is sometimes possible to start the car and drive away when the key fob is near but not actually in the car, say dropped on the ground when getting in, left on the roof, or somesuch. You only discover this the next time you stop the car by which time you could be miles away.
