I also have the Quickjack 3500, lifts the Plus Six easily and they slide in from the side with no issues. Ours also uses a 12v battery to power the hydraulics via jump start cables to the hydraulic pump contacts, I use a fresh charged battery from a Quad bike, works fine. I think if it was available I would go for the 240V powered version, but only because its easier to just plug it in etc.
The Quickjacks are not light, but they are not hugely heavy, more luggable.. I hang them on our garage walls from home made fabricated brackets, but you can purchase wall brackets to hang them from Quickjack.
The max lift height allows easy access under the car and I use the locking half lift height when removing wheels, checking suspension etc, I have a mechanics stool and its the right height to sit and work.
The only point to raise is that they are ideal for home maintenance etc, but I am not sure they would be that easy if you wanted them to take a gearbox out through the bottom etc..
