It seems Simon there is confusion in the parts books given these brackets were used for the standard rear exit exhaust system in some shape or form throughout the Aero range.
Below from a general Aero parts book, the exhaust brackets are shown in two parts (7 and 8) with the seemingly most fragile MXC00200, to which the rubber hanger attaches, common to both left and right.

On this diagram from Aero mk 2 book it shows the handed parts (17) under the same numbers, as a single unit bolted to chassis

To add further confusion part numbers for left and right are reversed
Can you have broken parts re-welded to give a more substantial bracket, or if available buy a new bracket noting above and have it strengthened before fitting?
