I repaired mine on a previous car with seatbelt webbing. There was a split in the original pad. The new webbing stretched tight was great. I pop rivetted it to the frame using washers as load spreaders.
While the seat was out I greased the runners to help adjustment.. also cleaned the leather. Of course that meant extra cleaning on the rest!
