Last Wednesday we took the twin granddaughters to Swansea Marina for a sightseeing boat trip up the Tawe. Boat is the Copper Jack named after the copper industry in the lower Tawe area. Run by volunteers. A nice short trip up as far as the Libert Staium where navigation ends. The marina area was ceveloped several tears ago for mooring and many properties built there. A Maritime Museum, Dylan Thomas centre, fishing trips, pubs, cafes, restaurants.
Nice leisurely trip with commentary. The river has aeraters to help keep it clean so bubble spotting was fun. 4 Kingfishers spotted near a new jetty for the Penderyn Distillery in a refurbed building. They intend doing boat trips to it eventually. No whisky distilling there at the moment as demand is down so the original distillery in Penderyn is producing. Tours with samples available though!.
First time we'v3 been to the Marina for a while but on the revisit list.
