That's probably a 6mm nut SFG. The two grounding eyelets behind dash are also 6mm. However if the nut holding the two in place had come undone I'm pretty sure you would be seeing intermittent electrical issues developing before complete failures. It's not unknown for a fixing lost during assembly of car to simply drop into the footwells over time. I've certainly found the odd washer appearing.
