It may be bonkers but there was a time (believe it or not) when the Government wanted to encourage people to buy diesel cars, as these emit very little carbon dioxide. Diesel cars registered between 1st March 2001 and 31st March 2017 that produce less than 100 grams per kilometre of CO2 are exempt from road tax. More reason for me to keep our diesel Mini, doesn’t cost much to insure and over 50 mpg what’s not to like

However it’s not ULEZ free though confused2
