I agree that hydrogen does have benefits , but it also has a large number of disadvantages , whether the latter outweigh the former only time will tell.

The main problem with this whole energy scenario is that politicians intervene, frequently, so the scientific and technical cases are often "bent" to their wishes.

Hydrogen is not easy to transport , it needs much more pressure than LPG to keep it liquid , so is probably going to be more suitable for stationary applications (like power generation, district heating plants etc)

When burnt hydrogen produces a large quantity of water, unless this is discharged to atmosphere (Unlikely ?) it needs to be condensed and stored (not easy in mobile applications without adding weight and other complications ) but less of an issue in fixed locations.

The first winter road tests in Finland by Mecedes Benz produced vast clouds of water vapour behind the car (a 220E?) such that the chase cars who were monitoring it, couldn't follow. No doubt things have improved since the mid 90s but burning hydrogen will produce water , no matter how you mitigate it.
