Actually you would be amazed at how little mirror shake there is on a modern Moto Guzzi or Ducati. The mirrors have actually become useful.

A couple of years ago Guzzi showed a show prototype with video cameras and LCD rear view screens. Given how difficult it is to read a navigator screen in full sunlight I think we can assume they will stay a designer's fantasy for a long time yet.
