Actually you would be amazed at how little mirror shake there is on a modern Moto Guzzi or Ducati. The mirrors have actually become useful.
On my old Ducati I took the mirrors off as all they seemed good for was inspecting the dead flies on my elbows, although it was possible to make out blue flashing lights. I also always felt that on a motorcycle with no mirrors you will always look over your shoulder rather than just glance in a mirror & thus avoid getting sideswiped by the car in your blind spot.
