I don't think it was thread drift going from rugby to beer.
Of all the rugby grounds I've been too, for the 'craic' its hard to beat Dublin, I prefer the old Lansdown Road stadium for the vibe compared to the Aviva.
My brother in law was up in 2023 from NZ for Paddy's weekend in Dublin (he hadn't been home to Ireland for 30 years ) and it was the Ireland England game, we couldn't get tickets for love nor money, we started in town at O'Donohue's were most of the English supporters pre match Guinness drinking starts in earnest, really enjoyed talking rugby to total strangers. Caught the game with the rest of the family in our local watering hole The Galloping Green known for some of the best pints in Dublin........what more could you want, a crowded bar with roaring peat fires and copious amounts of great Guinness enjoying one of the great rivalries.
