John, that tenax is a known weak spot. When one of mine snapped ( they are chromed brass ) I replaced it with a 2-screw version , stainless wood screws and a thin clear gasket. It is possible to drill the broken thread section out but I didn't. REMEMBER.....your hood routine must start and end by releasing the tenax fasteners for raising, lowering or just lifting the rear

Have you found out what happens with these double screw versions if you forget to release the Tenax fasteners prior to working the roof mechanism?

Hopefully they will take the strain but I'm wondering if they will rip out of the bodywork causing even more damage than the originals or, equally as bad, rip the hood fabric?
