Why should anyone have to sell off their home no matter how seemingly more fortunate they are then someone else? Its all a matter of relative prospective and where you are in the food chain, is it not? Are they the cause of homelessness, of course not, that's clearly at the door of the politicians and the policies they execute.
If the UK population is to rise to the predicted 80m by 2050, homelessness among many other things is going to grow exponentially.. In anticipation maybe we should all give up our front and back gardens for new homes, maybe give up half of our houses whilst we are at it, I'm sure we generally occupy more space than we really need, we all make that personal sacrifice to house the increasing number of homeless, we seem to expect it of others more fortunate than ourselves. But in the main that wont happen.
I believe in the politics of equality in opportunity and raising the opportunities in society for everyone, based on the premise of bringing and lifting everyone up, and not the often common UK approach of trying to bring everyone down.
I think you will find that most people are attempting to help and lift those unfortunate people that often through no fault of their own have fallen by the wayside, many ex service people have been recklessly abandoned by the country whose freedom they fought for and we should feel that shame too.
It is not about reducing other folks lives at all .....
Cream will always float but is often sour too...
