They are beautifully engineered cars, and with the passage of time, I think I would go with the modern replica, as I would be assured that the parts can still be acquired from Petersen. From reports I've read they are a better car to drive in modern traffic conditions.

I'd far rather see cars which are out of favour, being recycled into something that many would consider highly desirable, rather than remain in their original state and as values decline over the years, the cost of upkeep outweighs their value and we lose those cars altogether.

The Petersen Blue Train special is a fabulous and evocative looking car.
