I’ve tried that Peter, and it is lovely. Quite possibly about to offend the Italian nation BUT, it seems not dissimilar to the panettone sold at Christmas (which I also like!)
Yes Simon, they are very similar and probably vary mainly in the shape. The other altenative at Christmas is Pandoro which is similat but without any candied fruit. Pandoro is served with a dusting of icing sugar (included in the packet). There is always a debate at Christmas as to which is best; Panettone or Pandoro. I like them both but I am not so keen on some of the modern variations.
