Thank you to all who gave me some really good suggestions and ideas.
Between the list of hotels, hotel.com and Longis we should be able to find somewhere.
As regards the St Malo crossing, it’s a great suggestion, however, I’m also based near London and the Eurostar takes Tesco Vouchers. And so I save them and consider the trip as free.
It will be an adventure for 2 old duffers, bouncing around with little in the way of luggage.
