My car pre-dates the fitting of high-level brake lights, and I was never convinced by the look of the Cobra style. So I made up an LED strip to mount to the lower rail of the luggage rack.

Nobody has driven into the back of me in the 10 years since I fitted it, so I guess it works ok...
