This day 2 report gives a real and interesting insight to just what a dedicated and difficult path the sidecar racers have to follow in terms of the ever evolving design of their machines,..
For those interested, coverage on the TT event seems to be available from these guys on a day by day basis..

I have managed quite a few laps round the course on m/cycles as have some in their Morgans, thus thought it worth posting...?

Very much worth posting Luddite. Like you I have been glued to the TV whilst the TT was on and like you I have ridden the course on my motorbike several times. Mind you I dont see the riders as "gladiators" so much as out and out nutcases. If you sit on a wall out on the course as I have done, and experienced the riders coming past at 150mph just 3 feet away , you cant but think that they have a death wish.

ITV4 gives decent TV coverage.

P.S. I have only just given up my bike - 3rd or 4th time I have stopped riding. I can feel the itch re-starting after watching the TT. Stupid. Last thing I should be doing as I approach 80 is thinking of getting on a bike again but motorbikes are almost a disease.
