I also had a 4 point harness fitted which made a surprising difference to my ability, limited as it is, to drive quickly as I was held in place so firmly. Unless you have tried one you don’t realise how much you get thrown about on a bumpy road. Only drawback, other than the extra time to fasten up, was that it was impossible to reach the handbrake!
Also,I would add, it is not possible to lean forwards to look sidewards at junctions. For a harness to work itmust be done up very tight. Worn loose it is dangerous and worse than useless. I have considered adding a retracting reel to harness shoulder straps. Has anyone done this? Any comments? Or, device was shown on here recently that brings handbrake operation back level with the gear stick.
Another issue with rollbars is that occupant's heads are at risk of hitting the bar while being tossed about during an accident, even while being held in a harness. Driving with a rollbar really requires a helmet.
