Lane assist was introduced to MX5 UK models in March 2024.

Thanks. Thats useful. I was startled on a test drive when it kicked in - I thought the steering was failing. But on british roads with poor lane markings anyway, it was useless. Particularly on country roads where, when visibility is good enough, I use the full width of the road as is entirely legal.
My Volvo XC40 has lane assist but it can easily be de-selected and then will stay off. The only way it will come back on, is if you deliberately select it.
On some other makes, although you can turn it off, it will automatically engage again by default, every time you start a journey. Worth checking how Mazda do it.
