Nick,
as Rich said I have had a fair number of XK powered cars namely 2 Suffolk SS100's, a Suffolk "C" Type, an S1 E type o.t.s and an xk140 o.t.s. Jaguars are totally brilliant from the '50''s and '60's I have a number of friends who have 150's and they are possible the best of the lot in terms of comfort and usability , however IMHO the XK 140 o.t.s is the best of the bunch. Mine was rebuilt by CKL who are one of the best in the business, the car is very comfortable I had bucket seats, the main thing is to check for rust which like all cars from that time there was minimal protection, the Moss gearbox can be a pain and will sometimes leave you with box full of neutrals when you least want it., the overdrive is a real boon. The engine is the thing though so sooth and powerful parts are easily avaiable as and when you need them.
It was the lack of torque from my previous 4/4 and plus 4's after driving along with the big six that brough me back to Morgan with a 110 edition Roadster, the V6 is great, perhaps not as smooth as the straight 6 however, if you fancy an XK , do all the usual checks and buy from a reputable source like Twyford-Moors or Guy Broad and you want go wrong best of luck

Here for a good time not a long time!!
