From a very dull memory I think the first time I read of the idea of fitting a bearing as opposed to the damper was perhaps on eMog and it was John Shealy II an American who had perhaps thought of the idea initially ....? JHSII as he signed himself, seemingly did a lot to promote Morgans in the US over the years and drove a 3 wheeler across the width of the US, I think there was an article in Miscellany relating to his adventure. I think JHSII is another of those colourful Morganeers now sadly lost to the community...
