There is no official cutoff date after which E5 petrol will become unavailable in the UK. When E10 petrol was introduced as the standard grade in September 2021, the government committed to a "protection grade" of E5 remaining available in the higher-octane 'super' unleaded form for at least five years.
This means E5 will continue to be available at most larger filling stations until at least September 2026, when the situation is scheduled for review.
