From Ford's press release:
„Ford's current range of electric vehicles from the alliance are produced at its new Electric Vehicle Center in Cologne, Germany.“
These are the Explorer and Capri models, which hardly anyone buys. We can only hope that affordable Fords (including affordable EVs) will once again be built in Cologne. Otherwise, the location is dead. For many decades, successful models such as the Fiesta were built here for the whole of Europe.
I think you might find Heinz, that Ford Europe goes the way of GM Europe and is ultimately absorbed into Renault. The French government wouldnt allow the opposite outcome, and Ford USA like GM dont see their limited EU car sales as a key part of their business.. They are fighting to keep the US business alive against Chinese competition.
