I know many of you are interested in all things aviation, so I thought I do a feedback on last nights overnighter at The Aviator Hotel. It's based at Sywell Aerodrome, which was fairly active during the War, and they built 100 or so Lancasters on the site. It's still an active aerodrome, and has an aviation museum, Brooklands Flying School and one of the Dual Seat Spitfire flying experience. It's an hour drive from Duxford and Shuttleworth so could be a good base for visiting both.

Reasonably priced - we paid £108 for a standard double room including breakfasts. We had dinner last night and it came to £100 for 2 courses each and four drinks each so again fairly reasonable.

I'd describe it as 'quirky Premier Inn standard'. Immaculately cleain, really friendly staff and amazing decor. Despite it being only 10 miles from home, we're going to come back again, although in the summer to get better views of the aerodrome and suchlike, and the Museum will be open.
