Good review!
I am thinking of PHEV for the daily car. Have been for a couple of years but deferred.
Our mileage profile shows about 6k miles for the daily, mainly local with occasional 120 mile round trips. We do 8-9k miles in the Morgan and tend to longer trips in it.
Currently got a MHEV Sportage( no pure EV driving just a small battery boosts petrol engine) . This apparently helps Kia avoid fines for not meeting EV targets. Drives like a normal petrol car.
When the time comes I'll do the maths for car/funding choice. The higher EV purchase price is the main barrier as that leads to longer breakeven versus ICE cars. Maybe a good used will be the answer.
A friend has a Qashqai PHEV and loves it
As for converting a classic to EV....the cost is large and downsides not worth it as it detracts from what the classic is meant to be.
Hmmmmm like botox in excess?
