Only the single Aston in the group waved. Now at Fort Augustus. No problems with fuel. No queues. Two busier filling stations at Fort William but not crammed and quite usual.
If indeed it is all a matter of timing, I think you may well have cracked it for your selected section of the N.C. 500 Dave, between the weather and real or imagined fuel issues, the latter perhaps discouraging many who might otherwise have been heading Northward...
