Now identified by MMC as a faulty valvetronic motor, a BMW part. The score so far - five radiators and now two valvetronic motors, the latest just two months out of warranty. Of the 11 Morgans I have owned the CX is the least reliable by far.
Interesting and very important part of your engine. The conventional throttle body controlling inlet air is replaced by a system varying inlet valve openings for each cylinder, controlled by a valvetronic motor operating an eccentric shaft to cover all cylinders as below.

Does seem mechanically complex never mind the electronics. Being BMW probably very reliable though, so somewhat surprising you have had two motors fail.
